This is a beautiful antique Victorian hallmarked solid sterling silver coffee pot measuring 11" (28 cms) tall x 8 1/4" (21 cms) across from handle to spout with a 2 1/2 pint capacity.
The condition is excellent with no damage – any marks you can see are just reflections and there are no inscriptions or monograms.
It’s hallmarked for London 1858 with the silversmiths mark for Edward & John Barnard.
It has an armorial crest on one side with the Latin motto 'Tutum Refugium' which means 'A Safe Refuge' and I believe this is the Gillon family motto.
It weighs 823.4 grams / 26.4 troy oz which gives you an idea of the quality and inside is clean and perfectly usable.
This coffee pot will come with a certificate of authenticity.
